I know I need to get over this, but I can't!
When I was flying into LaGuardia this past December, I saw this strange needle-like structure puncturing the sky...I'd never noticed it before...it's like it sprouted overnight!
I can see it from my favorite spot in the park. It's like it's always watching me...
That ugly piece of shit that's RUINED the skyline is 432 Park Avenue, one of many obnoxious new monuments to capitalism run wild. Read the article in the link to learn how this building came to be.
And no, it's not a place where people work...unlike the Empire State Building and other skyscrapers, what is now the tallest building in NYC (if you don't include the radio tower on One World Trade Center) is a building you will never be able to enter...because it is a luxury apartment building.
This 96-story building has only 104 units in it! The worst part: despite the fact that all the units have been sold, this monstrosity will be only a quarter occupied at all times...that's right, the people who own these units don't even go here! The FUCK!
I was sifting through my photos on Facebook today and I came across several photos I have of the skyline pre-432 Park and I felt nostalgic. I know things change a lot in NYC and I can deal with that for the most part, but this...
Anyway, below are some of my skyline photos from 2009-2013. I'd love to see yours!
